Oscrete adds new territory manager for Scotland and the north after record sales

Bradford-based concrete admixtures specialist Oscrete has appointed Karen Burke to the position of regional sales manager for Scotland and the North East as it further boosts its sales team.

With over 18 years of industry experience and a two year tenure as Chair of the Concrete Society Scotland Region, Karen joins Oscrete Construction Products this month, one of a growing number of women in an industry that has historically been viewed as male dominated.

In her new role, based in North Lanarkshire, she will be responsible for implementing Oscrete’s UK sales strategy across Scotland and the North East of England and is one of a team of five regional managers.

“Her passion for the industry along with knowledge gained from working with construction specialists Tarmac and Patersons Quarries made her the ideal candidate for the role,” comments Scott Wilson, Oscrete Operations Director.  “ We are delighted to welcome her on board.”

A firm advocate of women in the construction industry, Karen was the first female Chair in the 50 year history of the Concrete Society Scotland Region.  Having been on the committee for over eleven years, she retired from her position as Chair in January of this year but remains an active part of the society.

“I’m absolutely delighted to have secured this new role with Oscrete and am excited about the future,” said Karen.  “Over the years I have developed a real interest in concrete and look forward to this new challenge and the opportunity to develop my knowledge even further.  It is a very dynamic industry with innovation creating new opportunities at every turn.”

Karen will work along side the sales team to support continuous growth and help increase awareness of the brand and its products.  Her appointment comes as Oscrete announces excellent first quarter results and record monthly sales for May.

This follows the addition of two other area sales managers, for the South East and South West regions, allowing the firm to better serve its client base.   In addition to personnel, Oscrete has invested in new product development, looking to launch new product to market in summer and has planned expansion of its facilities at the company’s headquarters in Bradford.

Oscrete’s range of quality, innovative products makes it one of the UK’s leading specialist construction chemical suppliers, providing high value technical solutions for clients across the concrete industry.
