Mitsubishi Electric Plans To Use Eco Event To Demonstrate How Existing Technologies Can Help With Renewable Targets

Mitsubishi Electric is attending Brighton’s Eco Technology Show (15-16 June, AMEX Stadium) to highlight just how much can be achieved with off-the-shelf technology to reduce both fuel bills and emissions levels.

The company will use its stand to show how heat pumps can be used to improve the energy performance of the nation’s building stock – whether existing premises or new build.

“Having now installed heat pumps in an extensive range of both domestic and commercial buildings, we know that they can make a dramatic difference to both carbon emissions and running costs,” explains Graham Temple, Marketing Communications Manager for the Heating Division.

Mitsubishi Electric is a pioneering manufacturer of heating, cooling, ventilation and power generating products. It remains the only air conditioning manufacturer to reject the idea of growth in residential air conditioning as unsustainable and has developed its award-winning Ecodan® heating products to focus attention on the tremendous savings in carbon and running costs that can be achieved with modern air source heat pumps.

The Ecodan range is suitable for almost any building from a small flat to a large commercial property, and is ideal for new-build or for retro-fitting in properties that have appropriate thermal upgrading.

The residential models (5kW, 8.5kW and 14kW), are the only air source heat pumps to have been awarded the prestigious Quiet Mark from the Noise Abatement Society. The system is also fully scalable from 43kW to 688kW and has recently been used for a community heating scheme in South London.  The CAHV Ecodan was recently voted Product Innovation of the Year at the National Heat Pumps Awards with the judges praising its innovative, high efficiency design.

“We know that technology exists right now that can transform the energy performance of the vast majority of our buildings,” adds Temple.  “We have numerous live examples ranging from schools, Victorian brick houses, high-rise apartments, offices and self-build projects.

“We face a real challenge as a nation in terms of lowering emissions levels and we should realise that using what is available right now can help tackle this and also help lower individual fuel bills,” he ends.
