Daly Industrial Supply Company is Irelands leading Hire Shop supply specialist. They have been supplying a complete range of tools and equipment to hire shops throughout Ireland since 1984. More recently the Company has also been supplying to the construction industry.
Talking to Managing Director Joseph Daly quickly reveals his passion for what he is doing. “My father started the business after working in the hire business for many years. He realised that what was currently on offer to the hire trade could be improved upon and so he set up his own business to bring the world’s best equipment to the hire shops of Ireland. Today, we are the leading company here in Ireland and we also supply into Northern Ireland. We operate from here in the south in Cork but we cover the country and have three full time representatives travelling continuously around the country to ensure that we are meeting their needs.”
The problems of the recession affect all industries and the hire trade is no exception. With construction work tailing off, enquiries for the more expensive industrial equipment are dropping but enquiries from the public for DIY work, using the cheaper tools is rising.
To combat this situation, Joseph is looking to see what could be done in supplying to the UK. He says, “At present, the UK is a clean slate for us and we are now looking to see if we can elicit interest from the UK plant hire companies. We would welcome enquiries from these companies and we believe that we could deliver their requirements to the UK within 2-3 days at very competitive prices. We can offer a wide range of top quality industrial equipment and consumables, including Lansing generators and power washers, inverter welders, battery chargers, electric air compressors and many, many more. In terms of consumables, we have these made to a very high standard for us and sell them under our own brand. We also have our own brand of industrial wet and dry vacuum cleaners.”
“We have seen that, in the UK, one of the key areas of interest is industrial heaters. We have been told that we are in for a hard winter and so we have built up a good stock here in our warehouse in Cork and we have the distribution rights to supply these not just to Ireland but also to the UK.”
In Ireland, Daly Industrial is the national distributor for the Ryobi range of power tools, Stephill generators, STIHL, HYCON hydraulic equipment, Compair, Besto, and many more. Daly, however, is not simply a distributor but also carries a large stock of spare parts for most of the products that it sells.
From those small beginnings in 1984, today Daly is a major player in the industrial tool hire industry and its services include wholesale distribution, trade sales, retail sales and hire. The Company also provides its own warranty back up and service for the full range of equipment that it supplies, using its own experienced service team.
