LIVERPOOL’S NEWEST HOTEL OPENS ITS DOORS

A major new hotel development which will enhance the regeneration of Liverpool’s commercial district has opened its doors.

Days Inn Liverpool, a 154-bedroom contemporary hotel on James Street, a key transport route for commuters and tourists arriving in the city, is now welcoming guests.

It is the first Days Inn to arrive in the city and is set to be the flagship new generation Days Inn for Europe, offering affordable, comfortable and chic accommodation. It occupies all five floors of the vacant former Ministry of Defence offices at Moor House, directly adjacent to James Street railway station in the city centre.

The three-star venue, which is operated by Sanguine Hospitality Limited, has already secured £400,000 in bookings. It is operating to 90 per cent capacity for peak weekends such as the Grand National, Mathew Street Festival and the Labour Party Conference in September.

Room rates start at £59. It offers a selection of king, family and twin bedrooms, all of which offer free Wi-Fi and complimentary hot English breakfast. Further facilities include LCD satellite TVs, full air-con, luxury Villeroy and Boch bathrooms and tea and coffee making facilities. The restaurant, with breath taking views of the Mersey, is available for light bites and serves selected items 24 hours a day.

General manager, Paris D’Allessandro, said the hotel hopes to attract tourists looking for short, affordable stays in an up and coming area of the city as well as commuters.

He said: “Days Inn Liverpool, which is an exciting new concept to the city, is in a prime location in the heart of the commercial district where there is already a great deal of improvement work underway.

“For tourists, the hotel is easily accessible from all the major transport routes such as Liverpool John Lennon Airport, Liverpool Lime Street and the Merseyrail network at James Street. During their stay, they will be a stones throw away from city centre attractions including the Albert Dock, Arena and Convention Centre Liverpool and Liverpool One.

“Business guests who are keen to stay in the city for a night are in the middle of the commercial district and again only metres away from James Street train station.”
